1844: My paternal great-grandfather, Ambrose Bryant Martindale, was born in Bismarck, St. Francois County, Missouri. He died on 29 October 1918 in Houston, Harris County, Texas, a victim of the Spanish flu epidemic. He is buried at Hollywood Cemetery in Houston.
