Daniel
Richard Upton was married to my paternal grand-aunt Lucy Alice (Martindale) Upton in
1891. He died 26 March 1929 in Houston, Harris County, Texas.
“UPTON—Funeral services for D. R. Upton, 64, who died at his home,
Twelfth and Waxahachie at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday
at the Fogle-West chapel. Rev. S. P. Wright officiating. Burial was in
Hollywood Cemetery under the direction of the Fogle-West Company. He is
survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. R. M. Hurst, Mrs. E. Whitsitt and
Miss Bessie Upton; and one son R. B. Upton.”
