1713:   One of my maternal 5th great-grandmothers, Mary Jane Holman, the daughter of Col. John and Ann (Quincy) Holman, was born. She married Ezra Cary on 8 February 1736/1737 and died in 1775. On This Day: August 6

1641: Thomas Holman, one of my maternal 7th great-grandfathers, son of John Holman and Anna Bishop, was born on this date in Dorchester, Suffolk, Massachusetts. He was a cordwainer (a shoemaker) and served as a soldier in King Philip’s War. He died 4 August 1704 at Milton, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, and is buried at Milton Cemetery.

1752: Luther Cary, one of my maternal 4th great-grandfathers, the son of Ezra Cary and Mary Jane Holman, was born in Mendham, Morris County, New Jersey. Luther, a veteran of the Revolutionary War, died on 8 October 1834, and is buried in Plain City, Madison County, Ohio. [Source 1: Joiner, Darrell and Sallyann, Cary Family History. 1645: Abigail Rigby, one of my maternal 7th great-grandmothers, daughter of John and Isabel Rigby, was born in Dorchester, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. She died on 1 March 1702/03 in Milton, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.
